MAYAN RUIN WEDDINGS

What can be more symbolic and sacred than a Mayan temple to exchange your vows and seal your lifetime commitment? In Belize we have several Mayan temples, like the majestic Xunantunich in Cayo district and Cahal Pech also in the Cayo District, most chosen Mayan Ruins for weddings. Couples tend to have their ceremony and newlywed photography session at the Mayan Ruin, followed by reception at resorts in the area like Cahal Pech Resort, San Ignacio Hotel and Rumours Resort; others simply elope and take me out to lunch and drinks to celebrate their union 😉

XUNANTUNICH ( meaning ”stone woman”)

This beautiful Ruin is located in the Cayo district, in the Succotz Village, just a few minutes from the Guatemalan border and San Ignacio town.

(check out beach weddings and jungle weddings in mountain pine ridge)

The views from the highest point of Xunantunich are spectacular and totally worth the short hike up 😉

And so are they from the bottom

and on your way out, don’t forget to shop from our locals 🙂

CAHAL PECH MAYAN RUIN

Cahal Pech, Xunantunich’s ”little sister” as i like to call it, due to their proximity to one another and because Cahal Pech is much smaller as well, is also very beautiful and makes for an awesome backdrop when you say your I do’s, and the best part, to get it captured by me and make those moments, memories that last a lifetime.

PLANNING BY SAN IGNACIO HOTEL STAFF

Steel band playing for the guest while they wine and dine…

Perhaps you get lucky and experience back to back beautiful displays in the sky. A rainbow on one side and a magnificent sunset on the other.
